Dix Hills Retreat

This project embellished this completely wooded and hilly home site. We wanted to create plenty of outdoor space to stretch out and rejuvenate. With the owners three teenage children and occasional guests, a plan was developed to include a fully automated swimming pool and an 8-person spillway spa, a putting green, and a driving range. This project surely delivers!

We removed trees at different stages of the project on an as-needed basis to leave as many natural trees as possible. We used over 200 sq ft of natural dry-stacked retaining walls throughout the site, with no wall greater than 2′ high to maintain a low profile.

One of the retaining walls was placed on top of the beam of the pool to create an upper lounging area. This also creates a higher drop for the waterfall. The 2700 sq ft natural irregular Corinthian Granite stone patio is just the right amount of space to spend weekends while grilling breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the custom-built 18’ outdoor cooking station with a fully functional bar area.
